Pulteney Grammar School visit

It’s book week again! My first set of talks for the week was at Pulteney Grammar!

As usual I did some character creation with the kids of each group. This is what they came up with.

First up we have GELMAN the dog with rockets for legs, T-Rex arms, a jelly body and a pigs tail. He lives in a rubbish bin inside of a giant mutated dogs stomach.

Next we have NOG the pig. He has robot arms, octopus legs, a chickens body and some dragon wings. He lives in a giant log in the land of mushrooms.

Last but not least we have BOB. He is a shark with an apple core for a body, human legs, sticky taped on skeleton arms and a lolly pop tail. He lives in a giant dog on Mars.

Thanks to all the kids and teachers at Pulteney Grammar for such a cool day.

    Hello Dan,
As a parent of one of the children you spoke to yesterday at Pulteney I’d like to give you some positive feedback.
My son did not stop drawing characters last night and made sure I came to see his teacher today to find out whether we could access your books at school! This is a child who isn’t passionate about reading….so it was great to see him motivated to get hold of your books! Thanks very much and I look forward to seeing your work. MV

    • That’s so good that he did drawings all night and that he’s interested in reading now. What you said in your message is pretty much my entire goal of what I try to do with my books. Thanks for the message and say hi to your son for me.
