Since 2016, I’ve had the incredible privilege of illustrating Anh Do’s bestselling Hotdog! children’s book series, published by Scholastic Australia.
Working on Hotdog! has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Anh creates wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories, and my job is to bring Hotdog, Kev, Lizzie and their growing cast of friends to life through expressive illustrations filled with humour, personality and energy.
One of the things I love most about illustrating the series is creating visual comedy. Whether it’s exaggerated facial expressions, slapstick action or little background jokes hidden throughout the pages, I want every illustration to add something extra to the story and reward observant readers.
Over the years, Hotdog! has grown into one of Australia’s most successful children’s book series, reaching readers around the world through international editions and translations. The books have received industry recognition, including children’s choice awards, and have introduced millions of young readers to the joy of books.
Knowing that my artwork has become part of so many children’s reading journeys is something I’ll never take for granted. It’s a privilege to work alongside Anh Do and the fantastic team at Scholastic, and I’m incredibly proud to continue bringing the world of Hotdog! to life with every new adventure.
